Dubai Film Market backs 12 projects

Hermes"LONDON -- The Dubai Film Festival has introduced a listing of 12 Arab film projects, that will receive as much as $100,000 each in publish-production funding in the Dubai Film Market. Enjaaz, the DFM's publish-production fund, has selected twelve game titles from Egypt, The other agents, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan. It received 110 candidates from 17 different nations. The candidate of fiction features includes Danielle Arbid's "Beirut Hotel" in the Lebanon Narjiss Nejjar's "The Rif Lover" from The other agents Yahya AlAbdallah's "The Final Friday" from Jordan and Laith Al-Juneidi's "The Invisible Policeman" from Palestine. Paperwork include Christina Foerch Saab's "Che Guevara Died in Lebanon," Eliane Raheb's "Confession and Struggle," Nadim Mishlawi's "Sector Zero," Rami Nihawi's "Mother" and Simon El-Habre's "Gate No. 5," all in the Lebanon Saad Hendawy's "Doaa Aziza" from Egypt Mohamed Ulad's "Hercule versus Hermes" from The other agents and Aseel Mansour's "Uncle Nashaat" from Jordan and Palestine. The Enjaaz program was released last year, and it has since supported 22 films to accept final step from production towards the screen. They include Susan Youssef's "Darling, There Is Something Wrong Together With Your Mind," which in fact had its world premiere this month at Venice and it is United States premiere at Toronto.
